Posters for the Planet - a competition for a better world aims to make the difference between good intentions and actual change.

Posters for the Planet is a design competition that anyone could enter until 1 September and forms the basis of a media campaign on climate. That campaign is needed because while 80 per cent of the Dutch are concerned about rising temperatures and declining biodiversity, they find it difficult to know how to turn that concern into a meaningful contribution to a better environment. From mid-October, the winners of the design competition will tour the Netherlands in a travelling exhibition.

Posters for the Planet - a competition for a better world aims to make the difference between good intentions and actual change. This requires a powerful poster. A poster can do something that words and opinions cannot: tie the complexity of cause and effect together in one strong design. A poster with a strong call to action that will soon be seen across the country in a travelling exhibition along museums and in a media campaign on the streets and in unexpected places in society.

A five-member expert jury will announce the winners for Posters for the Planet consisting of behavioural scientist Reint Jan Renes; Marjan Minnesma,  director of Urgenda Foundation; Thomas Castro, curator at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; illustrator Jip van der Toorn and Lian Heinhuis, director of Climate and Biodiversity at the Turing Foundation.
